　　1960年捷克卡罗维发利国际电影节最佳导演水晶球奖。　　OriginallytitledSeryozha,theRussianASummertoRememberwasco-adaptedbyVeraPanovafromherownshortstory.WarandPeacedirectorSergeiBondarchukplaysthenewstepfatherofyoungSeryozha(BoryaBarkhatov).Soclosedothestepfatherandtheboybecomeinthemonthsfollowingtheirmeetingthat,whentimecomesfortheboytomoveoninlife,herefusestoleavehisnewdad&#39sside.TheirsummeridylltakesplaceonaSovietcollectivefarm,managedbyBondarchukanddepictedbynovicefilmmakersGeorgiyDaneliyaandIgorTalankininthemostglowingandapoliticalofterms.Thoughthereisn&#39tmuchtotheplot,thefilmadmirablysucceedsasasortofcinematictonepoem.　　FromAllMovieGuide:RussianfilmmakerGeorgiDaneliyaranksamonghiscountry&#39smostpopulardirectorsofsatiricalcomedies.TheGeorgia-bornDaneliyacomesfromadistinguishedfamilyoffilmperformershisgrandmother,VerikoAndzhaparidze,wasafamedGeorgiansilentfilmactress,hiscousin,SofikoChiaureli,isalsoamajoractress,andhismother,MeriAndzhaparidze,spentmorethanadecadeatMosfilmStudios.However,hefirstchosetotrainasanarchitect(perhapsoutofrespectforhisfather,anengineer).Followinghisgraduationin1955,Daneliyaworkedonlybrieflyinthatfieldwhenhedecidedhe&#39dratherbeinfilms,enrollinginMosfilmStudios&#39Directors&#39Coursesin1958.In1960,Daneliyaco-directedSeryozha/ASummertoRememberwithIgorTalankin.Twoyearslater,hemadehissolodirectorialdebut,PutKPrichalu/TheWaytotheWharf(1962).His1969comedyNeGoryuy!/Don&#39tWorry!successfullyblendedhumorandmelancholy,adevicethatwouldbecomeDaneliya&#39strademark.Inadditiontodirecting,Daneliyaco-authorsthescriptsforhisfilmsandoccasionallyworksonscreenplaysforotherdirectors.Daneliyahaswonnumerousnationalandinternationalawardsforhiswork.In1964,hisYaShagayupoMoskve/IWalkAroundMoscowreceivedanhonorablementionattheCannesFilmFestival,whilein1975AfonyareceivedaspecialawardattheAllUnionFestival,amajorU.S.S.R.event.Daneliya&#39sbiggesthitintheU.S.S.R.,Mimino(1977),earnedthespecialprizeattheMoscowInternationalFilmFestivalandtheU.S.S.R.StatePrize.In1991,DaneliyaearnedtheNikaAward(theRussianequivalenttoanOscar)forBestScreenplayforPasport(1990).
